A light-heavyweight fight between Yan Blachowicz and Aleksandar Rakic has been targeted to headline the UFC Fight Night 207 event on March 26th.
Blachowicz will be returning to action for the first time since losing the light-heavyweight title to Glover Teixeira by a second round submission at UFC 267 last month.
That brought an end to a five-fight winning streak for the 38-year-old that had seen him defeat the likes of Luke Rockhold, Ronaldo ‘Jacare’ Souza, Corey Anderson, Dominick Reyes (to win the title) and then Israel Adesanya.
Now he’ll look to get back on the saddle and attempt to mount a quick return to title contention when he takes on the current No.3 contender in the division, Rakic.
The 29-year-old Rakic is coming off back-to-back wins over Anthony Smith and Thiago Santos, taking his overall UFC run to 6-1 so far, with his only loss to date coming by split decision against Volkan Oezdemir back in 2019.
Blachowicz vs. Rakic is currently the only fight attached to UFC Fight Night 207, which doesn’t have a destination or location confirmed at this time, other than a women’s bantamweight fight between Sara McMann and Karol Rosa.
