Manny Pacquiao Buys Shares of ONE FC

August is looking good for ONE Fighting Championship. Not only is the Singaporean promotion just weeks away from putting on its biggest show yet, but it now has one of boxing’s biggest stars behind it.

Manny Pacquiao, the world famous boxer and ONLY eight-division world champion, has just purchased an undisclosed number of shares in ONE FC.

Victor Cui was elated with the news. According to Yahoo Sports, Cui described himself as “pumped.”

“There are a ton of reasons why I’m pretty excited about this. Obviously, Manny Pacquiao is a global sports icon and having him as a part of our organization as a shareholder and promoting One FC and promoting the sport is huge for the sport in the region. It promotes awareness and growth.”

As a Filipino himself, Pacquiao’s support of ONE will no doubt help its popularity in the Philippines, a place where ONE already has a relatively large fan base.

Manny Pacquiao is set to face WBO Lightweight Champion, Christopher Algieri, at the Venetian Macau in Macau.

As for ONE FC, fans can catch its next event, REIGN OF CHAMPIONS, live from the World Trade Center Dubai on August 29.
