Alexander Volkov Out Of UFC 308; Fight With Ciryl Gane Moves To UFC 310

Alexander Volkov has been forced to pull out of his upcoming heavyweight fight against Ciryl Gane at UFC 308 in Abu Dhabi on October 26th after suffering an injury.

It seems the injury isn’t too serious however as the fight has just been pushed back a couple of months to take place at UFC 310 in Las Vegas on December 7th instead.

Gane heads into the fight off a 2nd round TKO victory over Sergey Spivak in September of last year, while Volkov’s unanimous decision win over Sergei Pavlovich in June extended his current winning streak to four fights.

It’s disappointing to lose a big fight like this from the UFC 308 line-up, but it benefits from still being a solid card regardless headlined by a featherweight title fight between Ilia Topuria and Max Holloway, while Robert Whittaker fights Khamzat Chimaev in the co-main event and with the likes of Magomedov Ankalaev vs. Aleksander Rakic and Shara Magomedov vs. Armen Petrosyan elsewhere on the main card.

And UFC 308’s loss is UFC 310’s gain as Gane vs. Volkov is a welcome addition to the final PPV of the year, which is currently in it’s fledgling stages, with the only other fights booked so far being Dominick Reyes vs. Anthony Smith and Tatiana Suarez vs. Virna Jandiroba.
