Injury-prone former lightweight champion Anthony Pettis told the ‘Inside MMA’ show on AXS TV this week that he’s hoping to fight again in the Octagon before the end of 2015 after recovering from an elbow injury.
Pettis is currently targeting the end of year ‘UFC On FOX 17’ show which just so happens to be headlined by the next lightweight title bout between the man who defeated him to take the belt, Rafael dos Anjos and Donald Cerrone.
“I’m pushing for this year. I’m pushing for a December return,” Pettis stated. “‘Cowboy’ and dos Anjos are on a card, and if one of them gets injured I’d be ready to step in.”
Pettis named Khabib Nurmagomedov and Nate Diaz as two opponents he’d be interested in fighting next.
