Bo Nickal vs. Paul Craig Added To UFC 309 Main Card

Bo Nickal’s next fight will be against Paul Craig at UFC 309 at Madison Square Garden in New York City on November 16th.

The 28-year-old Nickal will be getting accustomed to appearing on high-profile PPV cards as he also fought in the main card opener at UFC 300 in April, claiming a second-round rear-naked choke submission win over Cody Brundage.

That was Nickal’s 3rd win in a row in the Octagon since the former wrestling ace joined the promotion after a couple of dominant wins on the Contender Series back in 2022.

Nickal has been hotly tipped as a potential title challenger in the making at 185lbs, and so far he’s ran through his opposition in the UFC, with Jamie Pickett and Val Woodburn having been submitted and TKO’d respectively in less than a round combined before the victory over Brundage.

In the 36-year-old Craig he’ll be facing his most notable opponent to date, although the Scottish fighter is coming off back-to-back losses against high-level opposition in Brendan Allen and Caio Borralho at 185lbs, while he’s also just 1-4 in his last five fights.

That being said, Craig is known for his very crafty submission ability that’s caught out a lot of opponents in the Octagon over the years, so Nickal would have to be careful if he did use his powerhouse wrestling to take him to the canvas.

Nickal vs. Craig joins a UFC 309 main card that will be headlined by a heavyweight title clash between Jon Jones and Stipe Miocic, while Michael Chandler vs. Charles Oliveira serves as the co-main event and Chris Weidman fights Eryk Anders.
