Brendan Allen has a new opponent for the main event of UFC Fight night 240 on April 6th in Las Vegas after Marvin Vettori was forced out of the bout due to an injury.
Three weeks out from the fight the No.14 ranked Chris Curtis has now agreed to step in as a replacement against the 6th placed Allen, giving ‘All In’ a chance to avenge a previous loss to ‘The Action Man’.
The two previously fought in 2021 at UFC On ESPN 31, and on that occasion it was Curtis who emerged victorious via a 2nd round TKO.
However, in the few years since it’s been the 28-year-old Allen who has gone on to bigger things, stringing together an impressive six-fight winning streak, including five rear-naked choke finishes against the likes of Paul Craig, Bruno Silva, Andre Muniz and Krzysztof Jotko.
Meanwhile, the 36-year-old Curtis’ record has been more of a mixed bag, going 3-2 (+1nc) over the same period. That includes wins over Rodolfo Vieira, Joaquim Buckley and Marc-Andre Barriault, but also losses to Jack Hermandsson and Kelvin Gastelum, but a no-contest due to an accidental clash of heads in a fight with Nassourdine Imavov.
With Allen vs. Curtis II booked, UFC Fight Night 240 proceeds with a card that will also include Germaine de Randamie vs. Norma Dumont, alexander Hernandez vs. Damon Jackson and Court McGee vs. Alex Morono.
