Dana White Believes McGregor Vs Mayweather Will Happen Despite Business Concerns

Dana White talks to Conor McGregor

Another day, another twist in the ongoing Conor McGregor Vs Floyd Mayweather saga!

The boxing mega-fight between the two superstars now appears to be closer than ever after UFC President Dana White stated on the ‘Conan’ talk show last night that he believes it is going to become a reality.

“I do think it’s going to happen,” White told Conan O’Brien. “I think it’s going to be a tough deal, because, obviously, there are a lot of egos involved in this deal and a lot of people, so that always make it tougher.

“[But] on the flip side, there’s so much money involved, I just don’t see how it doesn’t happen.”

Up until this point White had largely attempted to play down the chances of the fight happening, but with Mayweather in particular becoming increasingly vocal about his desire to put the money-spinning match-up together and the UFC’s new owners WME-IMG no doubt looking to recoup some of their $4 billion investment, it seems he now sees the writing on the wall.

That being said, in an earlier interview with TMZ Sports, White had admitted to concerns that having MMA’s biggest star compete against arguably the best boxer of all time in a boxing match could end up having a negative effect overall.

“[The fight] doesn’t make a lot of sense for my business, but I would never keep Conor from making that kind of money,” White stated.
