Dana White Blown Away By Underdog KO Win At Contender Series 8 Week 4

On this week’s edition of Contender Series Season 8 all five winners on the card were awarded UFC contracts.

One fight completely stole the show though, with massive underdog Yuneisy Duben delivering a stunning knockout blow that sent Shannon Clark crashing to the canvas out cold just 73 seconds into their fight.

Dana White couldn’t believe what he’d just seen and awarded Duben a contract on the spot.

“Let’s just get straight to it,” White said at the post-fight presser. “Basically if you look at what you had to be on Shannon [Clark], she as a -1350 dog,” White said following the event. “There are two types of people in their world; There’s people who will come in and go, ‘Oh my God. I’m a 13-1 underdog,’ and there’s people who will come in and go, ‘How dare you make me a 13-1 underdog.

“I don’t know if she can grapple. I don’t know if she can kick. I don’t know if she can defend a takedown, but let me tell you what, one of the most impressive knockouts I’ve ever seen. A huge underdog.

“She almost didn’t come. She has no money. She doesn’t have a dollar to her name right now,” White revealed during the event’s post-fight press conference.

“Her per diem got messed up and all this stuff. The staff had to go grocery shopping for her, and then she comes in and does that. Let me tell you what, she ain’t broke now.

“You don’t see women knock women out like that. And the girl she fought as a 13-1 favorite. The girl’s a beast. She’s a specimen,” White said. “Nobody knows you on Tuesday morning. Everybody can know you Wednesday morning.”
