Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series Season 3 Episode 2

The second episode of Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series Season 3 took place last night and two more fighters emerged with a UFC contract as a result of their victories on the night.

Bantamweight fighter Miles Johns earned a deal after extending his unbeaten record to 9-0 with a unanimous decision win over Richie Santiago.

Johns came out swinging in the opening round and by the end of it had Santiago bloodied, while he also floored him in the second round and continued to be the aggressor in the third to secure a convincing lead on the scorecards (30-27 x2, 30-26).

Meanwhile, Miguel Baeza also secured a contract after defeating short notice replacement Victor Reyna, who had come in 8lbs over the limit for the fight, forcing what should have been a welterweight bout into a catchweight affair.

Baeza scored a knockdown in the first round with a right hand and in the second a series of knees in the clinch also put down Reyna again, and while he would put in a spirited third round performance it wouldn’t be enough to take the unanimous decision victory (29-28 x3) away from Baeza.
