Darren Till Rant At Tommy Fury Leads To Chaos At Boxing Press Conference

Ex-UFC fighter Darren Till will fight boxer Tommy Fury in the squared circle in January and there’s already been an altercation between the two at a press conference for the event yesterday.

The presser started to boil over after Till threatened to head kick Fury in the boxing ring.

“Listen Darren you’ve got to walk into the firing line mate,” Fury had told him.

“Well at the end of the day if I can’t beat you, I’ll just kick you in the face in there, how about that?” Till responded.

“Well that’s not going to happen is it Darren,’ Fury replied. “Because we ain’t in the cage now, we’re in the boxing ring and you’re going to find out that boxing is very different to MMA.”

“Well it obviously is, how are you going to stop me?” Till fired back.  “If I’m losing the fight, I’m going to kick you straight in the face. You won’t know what’s hit you.

“But then I’ll win because I’m a proper fighter,” Till added. “I don’t walk into a room like this and go “s***”.

“Not one of the people in here is a threat to me. Security, you, your dad are not a threat to me.

“I’m an MMA fighter so if I’m going to kick you or elbow you in the face I’m going to do it, and no-one can do anything about it so how about that?”

Till then took to firing insults at Fury, who holds a 10-0 boxing record, including a split-decision win over Jake Paul last year.

“Tommy, you’ve got the IQ of a loaf of bread,” Till said as Fury was trying to speak.  “What are you on about? You’re an empty head.”

At that point Fury’s father John, who had also been trading insults with the MMA fighter, escalated the situation by throwing a glass of water at Till, though most of it seemed to land on others sitting up on the stage.

Till and the Fury’s then attempted to get at each other, but were held back by security.

The 31-year-old Till left the UFC in 2022 after a bad slump in form that saw him lost five of his last six fights in the promotion, though before that he had been undefeated in his career, including a six-fight unbeaten start to his time in the Octagon.

Since then Till has largely been inactive, though he did earn a 2nd round TKO victory in an exhibition boxing match in July.
