David Martinez was able to outstrike Dan Ige over three rounds tonight at UFC Fight Night 288 (Noche UFC 4) to win by unanimous decision.

Round One

Cautious opening minute here, but Ige lands a low kick and there’s a brief flurry of punches from Martinez.

Calf kick for Martínez. Right hand from Ige. Quick flurry of hooks from Martinez as Ige was coming forward.

Head kick attempt from Ige, but gets caught by a counter punch from Martinez.

Martinez with a kick and then punches behind it. Kick from Ige too and a couple of punches.

Another solid calf kick from Martinez. One to the body from Ige. Ige goes for another kick and again Martínez lands a counter-punch to knock him backwards.

Martínez with another good calf kick and Ige’s leg is very red from these. He lands it again. He misses on a spinning head kick.

A final brief exchange ends the round.

Round Two

Left hook from Ige. He lands the jab. Head kick from Martínez comes close. Jab for Ige.

Ige punches into the clinch, but Martinez soon shoves him away. Right hook for Martínez. Inside low kick from Ige.

Body punches from Martinez. Both land a punch in close. Calf kick from Martinez.

Body kick from Martinez. Body punch for Ige. Calf kick for Martínez. Martínez ducks under a punch and lands to the body.

Martinez with a fast high kick but it doesn’t land. He tries another and Ige almost moved into that one.

Martinez sliding out the way of Ige’s strikes nicely here. Series of acrobatic kicks from Martínez late in the round, but doesn’t connect on them.

Round Three

Jab for Ige. He surges forward behind punches, but Martinez is quickly out of range.

Head kick attempt from Martinez comes up just short. A couple of jabs get through for Ige. Now a body kick.

Right hand from Martinez stuns Ige for a moment and he goes down, but then is right back up.

A couple of kicks from Martinez. One strays to the groin and forces a very brief time-out.

Calf kick from Martinez. Hard counter-jab from Ige now. Right hand for Ige. Martínez comes up short with power hooks.

Martinez head kick is blocked. He lands another calf kick. Left hand from Martinez. Now a head kick attempt.

Ige tries for a kick, but Martinez catches it and takes him down in the center of the Octagon.

Ige able to work his way back up to the feet with 10 seconds to go and lands a kick. Jumping kick from Martinez whistles just in front of Ige’s face.

Decision

Martinez proved to be too fast and slick for Ige on the feet tonight, striking his way to a unanimous decision (30-27 x2, 29-28).
