Della Maddalena vs. Randy Brown Set For UFC 284

A fight between Della Maddalena and Randy Brown has been confirmed for the UFC 284 event in Perth, Australia on February 11th.

The 26-year-old Maddalena joined the UFC after a win on the Contender Series that took his record to 10-2, and he’s since got off to an impressive start in the promotion, racking up three first-round TKO finishes in a row against Pete Rodriguez, Ramazan Emeev and Danny Roberts in the past year.

As such Maddalena has emerged as one of the more promising recruits from the Contender Series show and so there’ll be a lot of interest in his next fight against the 32-year-old Brown, who is currently in the midst a four-fight winning streak.

That unbeaten run for Brown began with a submission finish over Alex Oliveira, followed by decision victories over Jared Gooden, Khaos Williams and Francisco Trinaldo, though at this moment in time he doesn’t feature in the welterweight division’s top 15 rankings.

Maddalena vs. Brown joins a UFC 284 fight card that will be headlined by a superfight showdown between lightweight champion Islam Makhachav and featherweight kingpin Alexander Volkanovski for the 155lb title, while Yair Rodriguez fights Josh Emmett for the interim featherweight belt in the co-main event.
