Derrick Lewis vs. Sergey Spivak To Headline UFC Fight Night 215

A heavyweight fight between Derrick Lewis and Sergey Spivak will headline UFC Fight Night 215 on November 19th in Las Vegas.

It’s been a tough time for Lewis lately, having lost three of his last four fights in the Octagon, and most troublingly for the 37-year-old all three of his losses came via strikes inside the distance.

That slump began with a TKO loss against Ciryl Gane last year, though he did then rebound with a knockout victory over Chris Daukaus to end 2021.

However, in February ‘The Black Beast’ was KO’d in the second round by Tai Tuivasa and he’s since went on to suffer a 55 second TKO loss against Sergei Pavlovich in July.

By way of contrast, the 27-year-old Spivak has won five of his last six fights and is coming of back-to-back victories in the year so far.

First up came a TKO finish in the opening round that sent Greg Hardy tumbling out of the UFC roster, and he’s followed that up with a second round TKO of Augusto Sakai in August that leaves him ranked No.12 in the division, though that’s still five places removed from the No.7 ranked Lewis.

Lewis vs Spivak fronts a UFC Fight Night 215 card that is still a work in progress, but also features Muslim Salikhov vs. Andre Fialho and Jennifer Maia vs. Maryna Moroz.
