Devin Clark Defeats Da Un Jung By Unanimous Decision At UFC Fight Night 218

Devin Clark edged out a close, clinch-focused fight against Da Un Jung tonight at UFC Fight Night 218 in Las Vegas.

Round One:

Clarke lunges into a punch to set up a takedown attempt against the cage. Knees to the inside of the thigh from Clark as he settles for the clinch for now. He drives in with his shoulder.

Jung able to reverse the position and then partially works a takedown of his own, though Clark is right back up with Jung now body locked to his back.

Jung has a hook in and then spins him around as he tries to work another takedown, only managing to get him to one knee for a split second.

Now they split and there’s a kick from Clark and a punch from Jung. Clark driving into a takedown across the Octagon, but Jung is showing his strong takedown defense to get right back up.

Jung whiffs the target with an elbow on the way out. Jung into the clinch against the cage. However Clark surprises him by landing a takedown. Jung tries to kick him away but Clark does get on top throwing some ground-and-pound to end the round.

Round Two:

Calf kick for Clark. Jumping knee to the body from Jung, but Clark drives through that and then hoists his opponent up and slams him to the canvas.

Jung transitions and gets back up as he presses him into the cage. Jung trying to work around to his back now. He tries for a knee upstairs that misses and Clark then shunts around and takes control of the clinch position. Not for long though as Jung reverses the position again and soon after they go back to striking range.

Clark with a big punch. He goes for a high kick and doesn’t land it, but then does land one to the body soon afterwards.

Jab for Jung and Clark counters by clinching up against the cage again. He stalls from there and Jung turns him. Shoulder shrugs from Clark. A few knees from Jung.

Round Three:

Clark quickly back into the clinch again against the cage. Left hook from Clark as they break free. Grazing one-two from Jung and stuffs a takedown.

Jab for Jung. Head kick attempt from Jung is blocked. Now from the clinch he lands a trip takedown nicely.

Jung in half-guard with three minutes remaining. Clark gives up his back and scrambles out well to get to his feet. Now it’s Clark who is clinched up to Jung’s back. Jung turns into him and they break apart.

Overhand attempt from Jung. Clark lets his hands go but only skiffs the target with a hook. Jung gets into the clinch against the cage.

Should shrugs from Clark. A knee to the body from each man. Clark into the clinch. He lands an elbow. Good knee upstairs from Jung and then gets away.

However, they go back into the clinch. There’s some space and Clark throws solid punches and then back into the clinch.

Final 10 seconds and Clark ups his intensity with strikes and then a nice takedown.

Decision:

A clinch-heavy fight then and in the end it’s Clark who emerges with the unanimous decision victory (30-27 x3).
