A welterweight fight between Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos and Abubakar Nurmagomedov will take place at UFC On ESPN 45 on June 3rd in Las Vegas.
The 36-year-old Zaleski comes into this fight off a year-long suspension after having tested positive for Ostarine in an out-of-competition drug test in 2022.
Zaleski’s last fight in the promotion took place back in October of 2021 when he defeated Benoit St. Denis by unanimous decision.
At the time Zaleski had been alternating between wins and losses for a few fights, but in total his UFC record stands at 9-3, including victories over the likes of Sean Strickland, Lyman Good and Max Griffin.
Now he’ll be going up against the 33-year-old Nurmagomedov, a cousin of retired UFC ace Khabib Nurmagomedov who has gone 2-1 during his time in the Octagon so far, with a submission loss to David Zawada in his promotion debut having been smoothed over by subsequent decision wins against Jared Gooden and Ghadzi Omargadzhiev.
Zaleski dos Santos vs. Nurmagomedov joins a UFC On ESPN 45 card that will be headlined by Jack Hermansson vs. Brendan Allen, while Miesha Tate vs. Mayra Bueno Silva and Jim Miller vs. Ludovit Klein are also scheduled for the show.
