A women’s flyweight fight between leading contenders Erin Blanchfield and Manon Fiorot will take place at UFC Fight Night 239 on March 30th in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
The 24-year-old Blanchfield has gone a perfect 6-0 in her time fighting for the UFC so far, starting with a couple of unanimous decision victories over Sarah Alpar and Miranda Maverick.
Then came a trio of submission finishes against JJ Aldrich, Molly McCann and Jessica Andrade, before most recently in August she claimed a unanimous decision victory over Taila Santos, rising up to No.2 in the 125lb rankings.
Her opponent, the 33-year-old Fiorot also boasts an equally impressive record however as she too is 6-0 in the UFC, and has been going up against well a tough slate of competition throughout that period, starting with victories over Victoria Leonardo, Tabatha Ricci and Mayra Bueno Silva.
Continuing her fine form as her calibre of opponent increased she has gone on to earn three more unanimous decision victories over Jennifer Maia, Katyln Chookagian and most recently Rose Namajunas to take the No.3 spot on the rankings.
So, Blanchfield vs. Fiorot is as good of a match-up as the division can provide right now and it’s currently the only fight attached to the UFC Fight Night 239 card.
