Floyd Mayweather Claims He’ll Let Conor McGregor Use 8oz Gloves

Conor McGregor complained during their recent press tour that Floyd Mayweather had stipulated that he had to wear 10oz gloves and that they could only be made of certain materials, but it seems as if the boxer may now be changing his mind.

“Don’t believe what you hear in the media,” Mayweather stated on Instagram. “Don’t believe what you hear on blog sites. If it’s not coming directly from me, then it’s not true. I’m telling McGregor, “Let’s fight in 8 oz gloves”. McGregor can fight in any brand he prefers or chooses. I’ll be wearing 8 oz Grant gloves. Whatever advantage McGregor needs to feel more comfortable in the ring, I’m willing to accommodate. Let’s give the boxing and MMA fans what they want to see. @grantworldwide @mayweatherpromotions”

McGregor has yet to respond to Mayweather’s claim, and it’s hard to say whether ‘Money’ is actually being genuine here or if he’s still just trying to play mind games with his opponent.

After all, Mayweather also recently claimed on the press tour that he’d be willing to fight McGregor in the Octagon after their boxing bout on August 26th – a claim that no one is taking seriously.

Regardless of whether Mayweather is going to agree to 8oz gloves or not, it’s certainly a nice bit of promotion for Grant gloves.
