Glover Teixeira Vs Misha Cirkunov Switched To UFC On FOX 26

A light-heavyweight encounter between Glover Teixeira and Misha Curkunov has been switched from UFC Fight Night 119 in Sao Paolo, Brazil on October 28th to UFC On FOX 26 in Winnepeg, Canada on December 16th.

The reason for the move is that Teixeira needs more time to recover after having recently undergone hand surgery.

“The doctor said there was a possibility I could fight in October and I accepted the fight because I thought I would be able to do it, because I wanted to fight in Brazil, but I rushed things,” Teixeira told mmafighting.com. “My hand is not 100% yet, so it’s better to move this fight to December.”

Now Teixeira will have a couple of extra months to get back to 100% as he looks to bounce back following a KO loss to Alexander Gustafsson back in May – the second time he’s been stopped by strikes in his last three Octagon outings.

Cirkunov is also coming off a KO defeat – the first of his 16 fight career – against Volkan Oezdemir, which brought an end to a four-fight winning streak in the UFC.

Teixeira Vs Cirkunov won’t be the only 205lb clash on the UFC On FOX 26 card as Antonio Rogerio Nogueira Vs Jared Cannonier is also scheduled for the final show on ‘Big’ FOX of 2017 too.
