Jon Jones Talks Up Potential Fight With Jan Blachowicz

Jon Jones watched Jan Blachowicz earn a first round knockout victory over Corey Anderson last night at UFC Fight Night 167 and now he’s talking up a potential title fight with him.

“He looked great,” Jones said backstage after the event. “He looked fantastic, crisp boxing, great takedown defense. He just looked really good,” Jones said. “I was happy to see Corey Anderson eat his words. He’s been talking so much trash, and then to go out there and perform the way he did.”

“Jan has great knockout power. He’s very technical. He’s fundamentals are very sharp, and yeah, I think he’s going to make a great opponent.

“I can totally see the UFC matching us up with each other. What better way to make a claim for the title than to get a knockout like that, so I’ve got a feeling the UFC is going to be giving me a call real soon.”

And the good news is that Jones says he’s pretty much ready to fight whenever the UFC wants to make it happen.

“I’m excited. Whoever I fight, I’m excited. I’m going to wait and see what the UFC comes up with but I’m ready to go. I’m completely healed from my last fight. No black eyes and everything. My face, body, mind, heart are all ready to go, so let’s do this.”

After his big win Blachowicz was seen gesturing and talking to Jones who had been sitting front-row at the event, and he also used his post-fight interviews to call him out.

“The whole world was wrong,” Blachowicz said. “They were wrong about me. I proved that I am one of the best in the world. I proved that I am the next contender for the title shot. Let’s talk about my next opponent, Jon Jones.”

Blachowicz went on to vow that he’d knock out Jones if they do fight each other.
