Jon Jones Taunts Alexander Gustafsson After Passing Post-Fight Drug Test

Jon Jones was in a celebratory mood yesterday after it emerged that he’d passed his post-fight drug tests following his TKO win over Alexander Gustafsson at UFC 232, and he couldn’t resist taunting his defeated opponent.

In the build-up to their rematch Gustafsson had warned his rival that he was his kryptonite and in response to concerns over an abnormal drug test Jones had the Swede had stated that he’d still beat him even if he was taking ‘rocket fuel.’

Now Jones has taken the opportunity to throw those words back in Gustafsson’s face.

“Finished my so-called kryptonite before the championship rounds,” Jones wrote on Instagram. “Absolutely no jet fuel was found on the murder scene @alexthemauler just wanted to make sure you saw this. Seemed like that was the only thing you could focus on in our last fight. Interested to hear the excuses of my next few victims. Only 51 more days to go, will you be a witness? #UFC235 #AndStill.”

Jones now moves on to defend his light-heavyweight title against Anthony Smith at UFC 235 on March 2nd in Las Vegas, the first of what he has suggested may be three fights he’ll undertake in 2019 as he looks to get his career firing on all cylinders once again after a rollercoaster few years that’s seen him spend far too much time on the sidelines.
