Add welterweight champion Kamaru Usman to the list of high-profile UFC stars who appear to have had enough of Conor McGregor’s trash-talking.
Currently undefeated and No.2 on the UFC’s ‘Pound For Pound’ list, Usman felt the need to put McGregor in his place after reading a comment from the Irishman saying that he’d “spark him out,” if they fought.
It all came about when a fan threw a softball question at McGregor on Twitter, asking him, “What’s it like to spark people unconscious in three different weight divisions?”
“Tremendous! I love this record!” McGregor replied.
“I fight for the 170lb title I will spark him [Kamaru Usman] too. That would be fastest ko in ufc title fight (13 seconds)
Most knockdowns in ufc title fight (5) And then another KO in a ufc title fight.
3 title fights. 3 ko’s. 3 new records.
It’s right there!”
It wasn’t long before McGregor’s comments brought about a direct response from the man in question.
“Spark who??” Usman replied. “You must be talking about that pipe you’ve been smoking. Unlike you, if I’m gonna talk shit ill @ U. Now be quiet before I call Poirier or Khabib or Diaz to finish you again 🤫 #P4P 🤴🏿”
McGregor has already had other stars like Daniel Cormier, Michael Bisping and Paul Felder warning him to tone down his tough-guy talk as he continues to rehabilitate from the broken leg he suffered during his second TKO loss in a row to Dustin Poirier recently, but it doesn’t appear that the Irish superstar has any intentions of taking their advice.
