Marcin Tybura vs. Sergey Spivac Rematch Set For UFC Fight Night 242

A heavyweight rematch between Marcin Tybura and Sergey Spivac has been announced for UFC Fight Night 242 on August 10th at the Apex facility in Las Vegas.

The two veterans had previously fought back in February of 2020 and it was Tybura who won on that occasion via unanimous decision.

After that fight the 38-year-old Tybura continued on a winning streak that eventually extended to five fights, beating the likes of Ben Rothwell, Greg Hardy and Walt Harris along the way, before losing to Alexander Volkov on the scorecards.

He has since got back on track though with three wins in his last four fights. Along the way he beat Alexander Romanov and Blogoy Ivanov, before being TKO’d by Tom Aspinall and finally bouncing back with a submission win over Tai Tuivasa back in March, leaving him ranked No.8 in the division.

As for the 29-year-old Spivac, he too has stayed active in the years since their first fights and gone 6-2 in the process.

Spivac has beaten the likes of Derrick Lewis, Augusto Sakai, Greg Hardy and Aleksei Oleinik along the way, while his losses have come against Tom Aspinall and most recently Ciryl Gane via TKO last September, leaving him one placed behind Tybura at No.9.

Tybura vs. Spivac II is currently the most notable fight to so far be attached to the UFC Fight Night 242 line-up.
