Marvin Vettori vs. Brendan Allen To Headline UFC Fight Night 240

A middleweight fight between Marvin Vettori and Brendan Allen will headline UFC Fight Night 240 on April 6th in Las Vegas.

The 30-year-old Vettori is coming off a 2023 campaign that saw him earn a unanimous decision victory over Roman Dolidze in March, before being beaten by Jared Cannonier on the scorecards in June.

Having also lost to Robert Whittaker in his only fight in 2022 that leaves the former title contender with some work to do as he heads into the new year ranked No.5 in the division, three places above his next opponent Allen, who is currently placed at No.8.

Tough he’s not as high up the pecking order as his opponent, the 28-year-old Allen is carrying real momentum into this fight as he’s now won six-fights in a row over the past two years. That includes a strong 3-0 run in 2023 in which he earned a trio of rear-naked choke submission finishes against Andre Muniz, Bruno Silva and Paul Craig that’s helped him rise steadily up the 185lb rankings.

Vettori vs. Allen is currently the only fight attached to the UFC Fight Night 240 event, which will be the event that proceeds the star-studded UFC 300 show in las Vegas a week later.
