Matt Brown vs. Ben Saunders Set For UFC 245

Two old warhorses of the UFC’s welterweight division will do battle at UFC 245 when Matt Brown returns to action to fight Ben Saunders in Las Vegas on December 14th.

By the time the fight comes along it’ll have been over two years since the 38-year-old Brown last fought in the UFC, emerging with a first round KO victory over Diego Sanchez.

However, prior to that Brown had lost three fights in a row, including suffering a TKO loss against Jake Ellenberger followed by a KO defeat against Donald Cerrone, and together with concussion symptoms he experienced during that period it left thoughts of retirement weighing heavily on the mind of the veteran campaigner.

As for the 36-year-old Saunders, he’s trying to bounce back from his own three-fight losing streak against Sergio Moraes, Lyman Good and Takashi Sato in the past year.

Worse still, Saunders only has one win – a TKO victory over Jake Ellenberger in June of last year – in his past six fights.

Brown vs Saunders joins a UFC 245 card that is yet to have a headliner confirmed, but is also expected to feature a woman’s bantamweight title fight between current bantamweight champion and former featherweight titleholder Germaine de Randamie.
