Mike Perry has Surgery After Badly Breaking Nose Against Vicente Luque

Mike Perry suffered a gruesome injury in the third round of his fight with Vicente Luque on Saturday night, with a knee to the face badly breaking his nose.

The ultra-tough Perry showed no sign of quitting despite his mangled nose and quickly went for a takedown, which led to copious amounts of crimson pouring onto the canvas as Luque cranked on his neck, unsuccessfully trying to tap him out.

Perry made it to the final bell but ultimately lost out by split decision and has since successfully undergone sugery on Sunday to repair the damage to his nose.

Despite the loss and his injury Perry has remained in good spirits on social media.

“The dream is to be memorialized!” Perry wrote on Instagram. “To be remembered! To be fun! To be charismatic! To be strong! Courageous! Brave! Capable! Unbelievable! To be or not to be, Platinum!”

Perry also found time to congratulate his opponent on their ‘Fight Of The Night’ performance.

“FOTN! It takes 2! Thanks for the bonus, you didn’t have to do my face like that tho sheesh. Cursed with this chin, should’ve had my guard up like you. Ko or not one significant strike can do the job. When I’m healed we’ll train so you can beat these wrestlers. Congrats @luquevicente!”

Vicente also then paid respect to his courageous opponent.

“Look forward to train with you!” Vicente wrote. “I’m sure we can learn a lot from each other. No doubt you’re the toughest man I’ve fought and we showed everyone out there what fighting is about. Respect.”
