Said Nurmagomedov got the UFC 294 main card off to a fast start in Abu Dhabi with a guillotine choke finish of Muin Gafurov barely a minute into the opening round.

Round One:

Front kick from Nurmagomedov comes up short. He continues to feel out the range with kicks and then responds with a leg kick when Gafurov lands one of his own.

Nurmagomedov lands a quick kick and Gafurov takes that as a signal to charge forward with a flurry of his own strikes. He then ducks in looking for a single-leg, but Nurmagomedov retaliates by latching onto a standing guillotine choke and it’s in tight.

Gafurov goes to his knees and soon after taps from the choke, though the ref doesn’t get there in time before he goes to sleep. Fast finish for Nurmagomedov at 1.13mins of the opening round!
