Heavyweight’s Tai Tuivasa and Jairzinho Rozenstruik will lock horns at UFC 305 in Perth, Australia on August 18th.
For the 31-year-old Tuivasa this will be seen as a must-win fight as he’s lost his last four fights in a row over the past couple of years.
That losing slump began with a knockout loss to Ciryl Gane in September of 2022 and was followed up by a swift 54 second KO defeat at the hands of Sergei Pavlovich that December.
Since then the 10th ranked Tuivasa has been submitted by an Alexander Volkov ezekiel choke, while Marcin Tybura finished him with a rear-naked choke in March.
As for the 36-year-old Rozenstruik, he has alternated between wins and losses in his last four Octagon appearances.
He was TKO’d by Alexander Volkov back in 2022, but ended that year with a 23 second KO win over Chris Daukaus.
Rozenstruik was then submitted by Jailton Almeida last year, while in March of this year he TKO’d Shamiel Gaziev, leaving him ranked No.12 in the division.
Tuivasa vs. Rozenstruik joins a UFC 303 card that will be headlined by a middleweight title showdown between current champion Dricus du Plessis and Israel Adesanya.
