UFC 228 Post-Fight Bonus Awards

Following last night’s UFC 228 event in Dallas, Texas the recipients of the evening’s $50,000 bonus awards were announced.

Earning ‘Fight Of The Night’ honors was a preliminary card women’s bantamweight fight between Irene Aldana and Lucie Pudilova, which proved to be an all-action fight from start to finish, with Aldana eventually emerging with a split decision victory.

Tyron Woodley earned a ‘Performance Of The Night’ bonus for one of his most impressive victories to date, showing more aggression and activity early in the first round of his latest welterweight title defense against Darren Till than we’re used to seeing, before really turning up the heat early in the second round as he dropped the challenger, beat him up badly with ground and pound and then finally caught him in a d’arce choke submission for the finish.

Meanwhile, Jessica Andrade also took home a performance bonus after a dominant display against another former strawweight title contender Karolina Kowalkiewicz. Andrade blitzed her opponent with aggressive offense from the opening bell and quickly had her hurt, but Kowalkiewicz showed her toughness by hanging up on in there and doing her best to try to fire back despite eating a number of big shots. However, she was unable to fend of Andrade, who continued to apply pressure and then caught her clean on the jaw with a powerful right hand that knocked Kowalkiewicz out for a stunning highlight reel finish.
