Following last night’s UFC Fight Night 118 event in Gdansk, Poland the recipients of the evening’s $50,000 bonus awards were announced.
Earning ‘Fight Of The Night’ honors was the competitive preliminary encounter between Damian Stasiak and Brian Kelleher, a back-and-forth battle in which Kelleher would eventually emerge victorious deep into the final round by TKO after having floored his opponent.
One of two ‘Performance Of The Night’ bonuses was snapped up by Poland’s own Jan Blachowicz, who racked up only his second win in his last six fights after a solid performance against Devin Clark in which he gradually increased the pressure as the fight went on until he suddenly saw an opportunity to seize upon a vice-like standing rear-naked choke that forced Clark to quickly tap out.
The other ‘Performance Of The Night’ award went to Darren Till, who looked supremely confident heading into his main event fight with Donald Cerrone and then backed that up with a terrific display of striking that soon overwhelmed ‘Cowboy’, whose legs were buckled by a punch in the first round, and then came under fire from a barrage of blows that forced him to sink to the canvas and cover up until the referee’s TKO stoppage.
