Following last night’s UFC Fight Night 181 event the recipients of the evening’s $50,000 bonus awards were announced.
On this occasion the UFC officials opted not to name a ‘Fight Of The Night’ after a night of big finishes, particularly in the prelims, and so four ‘Performance Of The night’ bonuses were awarded instead.
Kevin Holland secured his performance bonus after he manhandled late replacement Charlie Ontiveros on the main card, slamming him hard to the mat mid-way through the opening round of their fight, which forced his opponent to verbally submit due to a neck injury.
Ontiveros remaining prone in the Octagon even after Holland had left and had to be stretchered away to hospital, but the news from Dana White at the time was that the fighter could feel all his extremities, so hopefully he’ll make a full recovery.
Alexander Hernandez earned a bonus for his first round stoppage of Chris Gruetzemacher, initially dropping him with a left hook and then finishing the job with a flurry of punches when he got back to his feet.
Adrian Yanez earned an extra $50,000 for his first round head kick KO finish against Victor Rodriguez, while Miles Johns KO’d Kevin Nativdad with an uppercut in the final round after having also won the previous two rounds.
