A few days ago Russia fans were witness to a bizarre moment in MMA history when a cameraman found himself trapped in the cage while a fight was ongoing.
It all went down at an Open Fighting Championship event in St. Petersberg last Thursday as Gadzhimurad Gairbekov and Dilshot Norkuziev got back to business in the fourth round of their flyweight fight.
Somehow the cameraman in question failed to make his way out of the cage after the interlude between rounds, and with the fighters and referee seemingly unaware of his presence, and the fact that there was now also a long camera wire draped right across the mat, the action got back underway.
One fighter goes on to land a takedown before the ref finally realizes what’s happened and tells the two baffled fighters to stop fighting, giving the cameraman time to sheepishly make his exit as the crowd mockingly cheered him from the sidelines.
Check out for yourselves how it all unfolded in the video footage below.
