Heavyweight star Mark Hunt is set to make his last ever appearance in the Octagon against Justin Willis at UFC Fight Night 142 on December 2nd in Adelaide, Australia.
This is the last fight on the 42-year-old Hunt’s current UFC contract, and after having had an adverserial relationship with the promotion over the past few years he’s indicated that he now intends to move on to pastures new after one last fight in the Octagon.
Hunt is coming off a first round submission loss to Aleskei Oleinik earlier this month in Russia, and that leaves the New Zealander with just one win from his last five fights in the UFC.
That solitary win came against Derrick Lewis by TKO last year, but beyond that he’s suffered losses to Curtis Blaydes and Alistair Overeem, plus also was handed a defeat against Brock Lesnar that was later amended to a no-contest ruling after his opponent failed a drug test.
Meanwhile, Willis is an up-and-comer in the UFC has so far logged three wins in a row since joining the promotion against James Mulheron, Allen Crowder and most recently Chase Sherman.
In total Willis is 7-1 in his MMA career, but this will be by far his biggest challenge to date.
Hunt Vs Willis joins a UFC Fight Night 142 card that will be headlined by Junior dos Santos vs Tai Tuivasa, while Mauricio ‘Shogun’ Rua will go up against Tyson Pedro.
