UFC lightweight veteran Jim Miller will fight Gabriel Benitez at UFC Fight Night 219 on February 18th at a destination still to be confirmed.
At 39-years-old Miller has already amassed an enviable collection of records during his long run in the UFC, including holding the most bouts and most wins in company history (40 and 24 respectively) and 2nd most finishes (16) to name but a few.
He’s also in the midst of a three-fight winning streak, having KO’d Erick Gonzalez, TKO’d Nikolas Motta and then submitted Donald Cerrone in the space of 10 months.
It’s an impressive late career run, especially considering that he’d experienced a much more mixed bag of results in the few years prior to that, only managing to go 4-8 from October of 2017 through to April of 2021.
Speaking of mixed results, that pretty much sums up his opponent Benitez’s eight-year run in the promotion, during which he’s gone 7-6.
There’s been more losses than wins of late though for the 34-year-old, but he is coming off a first round TKO victory against Charlie Ontiveros back in July, which marked only his second win in his last six Octagon outings.
Miller vs. Benitiez joins a UFC Fight Night 219 card that doesn’t yet have a main event scheduled, but will also include a fight between Gerald Meerschaert and Abusupiyan Nurmagomedov.
