A middleweight fight between Jack Hermansson and Brendan Allen will serve as the main event for UFC Fight Night 226 on June 3rd at a location still to be confirmed.
Hermansson is coming off a TKO loss to Roman Dolidze back in December of last year.
That continued a familiar pattern of wins followed by losses for the 34-year-old over the past few years, with wins over the likes of Ronaldo ‘Jacare’ Souza, Kelvin Gastelum, Edmen Shahbazyan and Chris Curtis having been interspersed with defeats against Jared Cannonier, Marvin Vettori, Sean Strickland and the aforementioned Dolidze.
That leaves Hermansson ranked No.10 at 185lbs heading into his next fight against the 12th ranked Allen, who is currently on a four-fight winning streak.
Along the way the 27-year-old has defeated Sam Alvey, Jacob Malkoun, Krzysztof Jotko and most recently Andre Muniz, with three of those victories coming by way of submission.
In total that leaves the former LFA champion with a very solid 9-2 record in the UFC, and a win over Hermansson would put him in a strong position to move into the Top 10.
Hermansson vs. Allen will front a UFC Fight Night 226 card that also includes Miesha Tate vs. Mayra Bueno Silva and Kai Kara-France vs. Amir Albazi.
