A featherweight fight between Dan Ige and Nate Landwehr is in the works for UFC 289 on June 10th at a location still to be confirmed, but rumored to be in Canada.
Landwehr is actually less than a week removed from his last Octagon outing, which saw him earn a second-round submission victory over Austin Lingo.
That extended the 34-year-old’s current winning streak to three fights, having also earned a submission win against L’udovit Klein and majority decision victory over David Onama, leaving him with a 4-2 run in the UFC so far and 17-4 career record.
Now he’ll be taking a step up in competition in an attempt to break into the 145lb rankings when he goes up against the 31-year-old Ige, who is currently placed at No.13.
Ige earned a KO win over Damon Jackson in his last appearance in January, but he’d uncharacteristically lost his previous three fights in a row with unanimous decision defeats against ‘The Korean Zombie’, Josh Emmett and Movsar Evloev.
Ige vs. Landwehr would join a UFC 289 card that’ not established it’s main and co-main event, but currently feature the likes of Eryk Anders vs. Marc-Andre Barriult, Matt Schnell vs. David Dvorak and Miranda Maverick vs. Jasmine Jasudavicius.
