Jose Aldo didn’t take kindly to Conor McGregor suggesting that they have a boxing match after fighting to majority draw against Jeremy Stephens in the ring last night at Gamebred Boxing 4.
“Me and Aldo should box,” McGregor wrote on Twitter after watching the fight.
Aldo was then asked about McGregor’s message during the post-fight press conference, provoking an angry response from him.
“Conor is an asshole,” Aldo said in Portuguese. “He only talks now because he has a fight booked, and does so to sell anything, not to actually fight. He’s a son of a bitch.”
Instead, Aldo still has hopes of securing a blockbuster exhibition fight against Floyd Mayweather Jr in the ring, though he’s also now weighing up the possibility of rematching Stephens too.
“We’re thinking more about this match because we’ve been negotiating it for a long time, the Saudi Arabia one with Mayweather,” Aldo said. “Conor, tell him to suck a cane field of d*cks, this son of a b*tch.”
“And tell Conor fuck yourself again,” Aldo added. “We should have fought in the UFC and he never wanted, and now he’s talking shit nonstop.”
Of course Aldo’s bad blood with McGregor goes all the way back to 2015 when ‘The Notorious’ was a rising star who trash-talked the Brazilian UFC featherweight champion throughout the build-up to their title clash and then KO’d him in just 13 seconds to win his first title and end Aldo’s long winning streak.
“Well, ok then,” McGregor wrote last night as he laughed off Aldo’s latest comments. “Whatever lad, I was only trying to be nice. Who pissed in your açaí?”
McGregor then twisted things around by joking that he should fight Aldo’s opponent Jeremy Stephens instead, who he infamously pretended not to know when they appeared in the same press conference together many years ago.
“Me and who the fuck is that guy should box,” McGregor wrote.
