Rob Font ended Adrian Yanez’s five-fight winning streak in the promotion tonight at UFC 287 with a shovel hook KO finish in the opening round.
Round One:
Right hook lands for Font straight away. Now he lands a straight right. Yanez with a right hand and Font lands a jab.
Both land a right hand at the same time. Yanez finds the target with that right hand. Now a jab lands.
Jab for Font now. He lands a further two and Yanez lands a hard punch in return. Knee from Font. Jabs from Yanez.
Low kick for Yanez. Repeated jabs for Yanez. Both start exchange hard punches in close. Uppercut lands for Font and that seems to trouble his opponent. Font with more punches down the pipe.
Momentum shifting in Font’s favor here as he gets aggressive. Font with repeated jabs and then ducks down and rises back up throwing a big shovel hook that floors Yanez. Font follows him down looking to seal the deal and claims a TKO victory at 2.57mins of the first round.
