Curtis Blaydes vs. Jailton Almeida Headlines UFC Fight Night In November

A heavyweight clash between Curtis Blaydes and Jailton Almeida will headline a UFC Fight Night card scheduled for November 4th in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

The 32-year-old Blaydes came into 2023 on a three-fight winning streak against the likes of Jairzino Rozenstruik, Chris Daukaus and Tom Aspinall, but a TKO loss to Sergei Pavlovich in April has once again seen him fall short of title contention status.

That leaves Blaydes ranked No.4 in the division as he now faces another tough fight against a rapidly rising force in the 31-year-old Almeida, who only joined the UFC last year from the Contender Series, yet he’s already racked up five wins in a row.

All five of those came inside the distance, and though he’s mostly fought lower-level competition in the promotion, he showed that he can be equally effective against ranked opposition when he submitted Jairzinho Rozenstruik in the first round last month to move into the heavyweight top 10.

Blaydes vs. Almeida is the only fight so far for the Fight Night card, which at this point marks the UFC’s second trip to Brazil in 2023 after UFC 283 back in January.
