with Sean Brady out injured, Jack Della Maddalena now has a fresh opponent for this weekend’s UFC 290 event in Las Vegas, with Josh Harrell now having stepped in as a late replacement.
Known as ‘The Muscle Hamster’, the 24-year-old Harrell will be making his UFC debut on Saturday night after compiling a 7-0 record on the regional circuit, all coming inside the distance and including a 3rd round TKO win in the LFA promotion just a couple of weeks ago.
The newcomer faces a daunting challenge for his short-notice debut as he’ll be going up against the 26-year-old Maddalena, who has enjoyed a perfect start his UFC career by compiling four wins in a row over the past year-and-a-half.
Better still, Maddalena’s opponents in the Octagon have yet to make it out of the first round, with Pete Rodriguez, Ramazan Emeev and Danny Roberts all being TKO’d, while most recently he submitted Randy Brown with a rear-naked choke at UFC 284 back in February.
Maddalena vs. Harrell takes place on the preliminary portion of this weekend’s UFC 290 event during International Fight Week card, alongside other notable bouts like Robbie Lawler vs. Niko Price and Jimmy Crute vs. Alonzo Menifield, while the main card on PPV is headlined by a featherweight title fight between Alexander Volkanovski and Yair Rodriguez, along with a co-main event that sees flyweight champ Brandon Moreno rematching Alexandre Pantoja.
