A welterweight fight between Joaquin Buckley and Alex Morono has been booked for UFC Fight Night 229 on October 7th in Las Vegas.
The 29-year-old has been active during his 3 year run in the UFC so far, having already fought 10 times, going 6-4 in the process.
Of course he’s best known for his viral spinning back kick KO finish against Impa Kasanganay back in 2020, but he’s had some other big highlight-reel finishes since, including in his last fight in May of this year when he TKO’d Andre Fialho with a head kick.
Now Buckley will go up against the 33-year-old Morono, who has won five of his last six fights in the UFC. His only loss during that period came against Santiago Ponzinibbio in December of last year, but he’s since rebounded with a submission finish over Tim Means a few months ago.
Buckley vs. Morono joins a UFC Fight Night 229 card that will be headlined by Grant Dawson vs. Bobby Green, while other bouts so far confirmed for the show include Joe Pyfer vs. Abdul Razak Alhassan, Drew Dober vs. Ricky Glenn and Alexander Hernandez vs. Bill Algeo.
