Former Bellator star Michael ‘Venom’ Page has now officially signed to the UFC and has first fight in the Octagon will be against Kevin Holland at UFC 299 in Miami, Florida on March 9th.
With his eye-catching striking-based style the 36-year-old Page has been known as one of the most exciting fighters in the Bellator promotion for years, having spent almost the entirety of his career so far there, amassing an impressive 21-2 record along the way.
Despite his success in the promotion a title has evaded him, having lost in the semi-finals of the Bellator 2019 welterweight grand-prix to Douglas Lima and then last year coming out on the wrong end of a split-decision verdict against Logan Storley in an interim title fight.
Nonetheless, throughout his 10-year run in the promotion he did earn victories over the likes of the aforementioned Douglas Lima (in a 2021 rematch), Paul Daley, Evengalista ‘Cyborg’ Santos, David Rickels and most recently in March TKO’ing Goiti Yamauchi in just 23 seconds.
Now he heads straight into a big fight for his Octagon debut against the 31-year-old Holland, who is coming off a split-decision loss to Jack Della Maddalena in September.
However, Holland does also hold two wins in 2023, having KO’d Santiago Ponzinibbio and submitted Michael Chiesa, leaving him ranked No.12 in the 170lb division.
‘Venom’ Page vs. Holland joins a UFC 299 card in Miami that will be headlined by a bantamweight title fight between current champion Sean O’Malley in his first defense of the belt against Marlon Vera.
