Dana White has announced no less than three new headlining fights that are set to take place at events coming up in March.
First up, Tai Tuivasa will fight Marcin Tybura in the main event of UFC Fight Night 239 on March 16th in Las Vegas in a match-up that’s been moved from it’s original placing on the UFC 298 card a month earlier.
It’s a must-win fight for Tuivasa whose recent slump in form has seen him suffer three losses in a row, including KO losses to Ciryl Gane and Sergei Pavlovich along with a submission defeat against Alexander Volkov.
As for Tybura, he’s coming off a 73 second TKO loss against Tom Aspinall, but had won two fights in a row prior to that against Alexander Romanov and Blagoy Ivanov.
Moving on to a week later, Rose Namajunas will headline opposite Amanda Ribas at UFC Fight Night 240 in Las Vegas on March 23rd.
Former strawweight champ Namajunas is coming off back-to-back losses against Carla Esparza and Manon Fiorot, while Ribas went 2-1 in her 2023 campaign, with a TKO loss against Maycee Barber being sandwiched inbetween wins over Viviane Araujo and Luana Pinheiro.
Finally, UFC Fight Night 241 in New Jersey on March 30th will be headlined by a welterweight fight between Sean Brady and Vicente Luque.
Brady bounced back from a TKO loss against Belal Muhammad in 2022 by defeating Kelvin Gastelum via submission in December, leaving him ranked No.7 in the division, while Luque’s only fight last year saw him beat Rafael dos Anjos on the scorecards, putting him at No.9 on the rankings.
