UFC heavyweight Walt Harris has been hit with a four-year suspension after being flagged for multiple drug test violations.
According to the UFC’s new drug-testing partner Combat Sports Anti-Doping (CSAD), the 40-year-old Harris tested positive for both drostanalone and testosterone of exogenous origin in two separate tests on June 24th and July 12th of last year, while a third test on August 6th also turned up positive for anastrozole as well as the substances from the previous two tests.
As such Harris has now been banned for four years starting from when he first received word that he’d failed a test in July of last year, meaning that he’ll now be unable to compete until July of 2027, by which stage he will have turned 44-years-old.
Harris hasn’t actually fought in the UFC since a TKO loss to Marcin Tybura all the way back in June of 2021. At the time that was Harris’ third TKO loss in a row and led to a two year hiatus from the sport.
However, ‘The Big Ticket’ had been scheduled to return to action against Josh Parisian at UFC On ESPN 49 in July of last year before being pulled from the event due to his failed drug test.
It’s worth noting this is not the first time that Harris has been suspended as he also tested positive for LGD4033 and selective androgen receptor modulators following a split-decision win over Andrei Arlovski. On that occasion Harris was able to successfully argue that this had been due to a tainted supplement, which led to a reduced suspension of 4 months in addition to having his win being amended to a no-contest.
