The UFC’s first ever heavyweight champion and hall-of-famer Mark Coleman hasn’t been seen much since he bowed out of the sport following a loss to Randy Couture in 2010, so the Inside MMA crew caught up with him this week to find out how he’s getting on.
The 47 year-old mainly reflects on his career, but when asked if there’s anyone he’d still like to fight he does have a few names to hand, and they are also all veterans of the sport – Tito Ortiz, Dan Severn and Ken Shamrock.
Judging by this interview though I really hope he doesn’t ever decide to step back into the cage as it was surprising to see how small he looks, and though I hate to say it he seems like he might be getting punch drunk (hopefully he just had a few drinks before the interview was taken!).
Anyway, aside from that there is a heart-warming moment in the video when Coleman’s daughter confirms that she wasn’t forever traumatized by an infamous moment when she and her sister came into the ring crying after her dad was beaten by Fedor Emelianenko back in the PRIDE days.
