The ratings for The Ultimate Fighter: Live on FX just keep getting worse, with Friday’s 5th episode pulling in just 947,000 viewers.
That’s the worst ever ratings for the show and suggest both the UFC and FX have a lot of work to do in order to turn things around and get the season back on track.
There could be a number of factors that are causing the poor ratings – the live format may not be appealing to some, the choice of coaches in Urijah Faber and Dominick Cruz may not be appealing to fans as much as others in the past or the switch to a Friday night slot may also have had a part to play.
It’s hard to believe, but even five episodes in and over three months into their new TV deal, it could also be that some people still aren’t getting the message that TUF has now moved to FX.
There is evidence to suggest that’s the case as believe it or not, at the same time as the new episodes of TUF: live were airing, some 408,000 viewers were tuning into a re-run of The Ultimate Fighter 9 on Spike TV. If they can find a way to get those viewers to transition to FX then the ratings would at least be back in line with what they used to be.
