Bellator middleweight champion Hector Lombard will begin his UFC career with a fight against one of the division’s best known fighters Brian Stann.
Dana White first revealed that the fight was taking place yesterday on Twitter and it’s since been confirmed that the fight will take place on the UFC On FOX 4 card on August 4th.
Lombard joins the UFC after putting together a remarkable 25 fight unbeaten run in promotion’s around the world including an eight-fight winning streak in the Bellator organization which justifies the decision to put him straight into a high profile fight here.
Former WEC light-heavyweight champion Stann has proven to be a real force at 185lbs since moving down to the division in the summer of 2010 and has amassed a 4-1 record so far including a first round KO win over Alessio Sakara earlier this month at ‘UFC On Fuel TV 2’ in Sweden.
This looks like an excellent bit of matchmaking on paper with these two heavy-hitting stars being well capable of providing fireworks on FOX.
