Showtime appear to have taken a leaf out of FOX’s MMA advertising playbook by putting out a new light-hearted promo to help promote July’s Strikeforce: Rockhold Vs Kennedy event.
Like FOX’s ads for the UFC this one casts middleweight champ Luke Rockhold and Tim Kennedy as fighter’s with a heart of gold, while Frank Shamrock (finally sans braces) hams it up enthusiastically as he attempts to get them to release their inner-demon.
It might not be to everyone’s taste’s but personally I think it makes a nice change from the usual 30 second highlight reels and moody staredowns that generally serve as pre-fight hype videos these days.
