Dana White has announced that a middleweight scrap between Rousimar Palhares and Hector Lombard will front the ‘UFC On FX 6’ event in Australia on December 14th.
Both men are talented and dangerous fighters who are looking to dust themselves off after recent disappointments in the Octagon.
Palhares had been riding high in the division at the turn of the year after three consecutive victories and a reputation for nasty leg lock victories, but Alan Belcher was then able to take him out by TKO at ‘UFC On FOX 3’ back in May.
Meanwhile, Lombard arrived in the UFC with plenty of hype after a long unbeaten run and reign as Bellator’s middleweight champion, but he produced a sub-par debut at UFC 149, losing a decision to Tim Boetsch.
If both fighters turn up at their best then the Australian fans should be in for a treat, and alongside the headliner they’ll also get to see the final of The Ultimate Fighter: Australia Vs UK, plus the seasons coaches Ross Pearson and George Sotiropoulos square off too in what’s likely to serve as the co-main event.
