The UFC will return to the Swedish market for a second year running in April and a sell-out crowd will await them at the Ericsson Globe Arena in Stockholm.
“Stockholm Sweden sold out in hours!!!!” UFC President Dana White stated on Twitter yesterday.
The same enthusiasm from Swedish fans was noticeable last year when ‘UFC On Fuel TV 2’ also sold out in just three hours – A European record – with the official attendance being marked at an impressive 15,428.
Swedish light-heavyweight star Alexander Gustafsson is a key reason for this, having headlined the promotion’s last visit to Stockholm, and he’ll again front this year’s event opposite Gegard Mousasi as he looks to extend his unbeaten run to six fights and put more pressure on the UFC to award him a title shot in the division.
