The UFC have announced the names of four new female fighters who’ll join the promotion’s growing bantamweight roster.
The biggest name on the list is former Strikeforce 135lb champion Sarah Kaufman who was submitted in under a minute by Ronda Rousey, but nonetheless remains one of the sport’s leading female fighters and holds wins over the likes of Liz Carmouche and Miesha Tate in her 15-2 professional fight career.
A decorated kickboxing champion, Germaine de Randamie also moves over from Strikeforce and she currently holds a 3-2 record in the sport.
Julie Kedzie, who along with a 16-11 fight record also serves as a co-commentator for all-female promotion Invicta FC and as famed MMA coach Greg Jackson’s personal assistant is also now under the UFC’s banner>
Finally, there’s 24 year-old Amanda Nunes from Brazil who’s racked up a 7-3 record to date and fought for the likes of Strikeforce and Invicta FC.
In total the UFC now has 10 female fighters under contract and is planning to add a further five to the mix.
